“Road, Movie” star Tannishtha Chatterjee, who is known for her knack of doing challenging roles, proved herself yet again. The actress, who will be next seen in director Girish Malik’s upcoming movie “Jal”, had to learn the Kutchi language & accent for the film. However, instead of hiring a professional teacher, like anyone else would; she opted for a local, rural teacher who trained her to speak the correct dialect. But all this wouldn’t have been possible without Tannishtha’s determination.
On the sets, she would talk only in the Kutchi accent in order to master fluency. She even paid regular visits to the local villages in order to understand the psychology & the behaviour patterns of the locals. Praising the talented actress, the director Girish Malik says, “Tannishtha has worked very hard in learning the language. In fact, after a point of time, she was so fluent that she would also add some of the local lines to the dialogues which turned the character to be even more authentic.”
A source also revealed that before leaving the place, Tannishtha gifted her teacher something which the teacher refused to accept. However, on Tannishtha’s insistence, he had to take it. Now, that’s a great example of both, determination & courtesy. It’ll be interesting to see how many A-list actors indulge in such intense training for their characters.
